Due to the people we are recruiting for to be supported, we will be appointing females only.

The post complies with section 7 (2) (b) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 & Schedule 9 Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010

The people we support are at the centre of everything we do and we’re looking for dedicated, hard-working individuals who really want to make a difference to peoples’ lives.

You will receive a monthly salary based on full time hours (37.5 hours a week or average 162.5 hours per month) providing cover for existing team members for annual leave, sickness and training. This will include short notice cover.

Sleep-in shifts are paid additional to your salary

The areas we cover are Kingsbridge, South Brent, Plymouth, Ivybridge & Ugborough.

ESSENTIAL :

You must have a full, clean driver’s licence & your own transport as travelling is an essential part of this post.

– You must have at least 2 years’ experience; this role means that you will support

different people, with different needs. You will be ‘lone working’ and therefore

need to take responsibility for providing emotional, social, medical and material

needs of the people you support.

– Be able to provide ‘personal care’

– Good Communicator – Effective Listener

– Passionate about actively supporting people with disabilities

– Understanding that the post requires flexibility including working evenings, weekends

and sleeps – sometimes at short notice

DESIRABLE :

– A Diploma or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care is desirable but it is equally important that you demonstrate a genuine commitment to working with people with disabilities and a willingness to work flexibly.

– Knowledge of Care Act 2014 (Although as part of your Induction process- you will be expected to complete mandatory training which includes this)

Job Type: Full-time Permanent following successful probation period

All applicants will be required to complete a ‘New Key’ application form prior to this.

A clear DBS and References essential to commencing support work & mandatory training will need to be undertaken.

We are looking for a reliable, energetic, enthusiastic female with good communication skills to support people with disabilities in their own home. It is important to help the person to stay safe & well; with their feelings & relationships; manage the practicalities of daily living –cleaning their home, shopping, cooking; be connected in their community; look after themselves – personal care – budgeting.

You may be lone working, so will need to take responsibility for providing emotional, social, medical and material needs for the person you will support. You must be able to maintain professional boundaries and work to the Company’s policies and procedures.

The support required involves mornings, evenings, daytime activities, sleep ins & weekends.
